Jan Fourie and Louwrette Meintjes started game farming and breeding in 1988. Jan Fourie started his first intensive breeding programme in 1996, on the farm Mazunga, in the popular and well-known game ranching region of Gravelotte, South Africa. We specialize in the breeding of extreme rare species of Southern African Roan Antelope.
The family business expanded when brothers Johann Meintjes and Hannes Meintjes joined in 2012. As from 2016, they are responsible for the day-to-day operations and long-term business decisions.
Jan Fourie and Louwrette Fourie laid the foundations of this successful family business, with their aim to build on their success.
After many years of careful selection, we were able to breed roan antelope with a natural tolerance to certain tick related diseases.
As to date, we have expanded to more exotic game, such as sable antelope and buffalo.
Our sable antelope breeding stocks bloodline consist of some of the worlds best bloodlines breeding here in die heart of the Lowveld, Gravelotte.
The buffalo breeding project is located in Hoedspruit, on the family farm Moriah Citrus Estates. We strive to continue the breeding of top quality bloodlines, such as the Kruger line.
The focus on the correct feeding program for optimal horn length and superb health conditions in all our animals are top priority. We take the breeding of these superior animals very seriously and will always take nature and its elements in consideration to create a natural environment where the animals can roam freely.
Other species in die project are tsessebe and njala.
